The Designing Streets Toolbox is a direct result of research, published in August 2013 that analysed how well the policy was being applied across Scotland. Following on from this, a plan of practical action was created to promote a range of tools designed to help the policy be applied, more rigorously, at whatever stage in the development process.
Each tool has been created to do a specific task and they have been deliberately designed to be easy to apply across a range of different practices. One intention is to help improve the efficiency, and delivery, of the Road Construction Consent and Planning process.
Thank you to all who entered this year’s SAQP. We received 44 entries and are now in the process of shortlisting them for the Awards Ceremony in November 2014. Follow #SAQP2014 on Twitter.
Drawing Places Workshop Video
A video of the Drawing Places Workshop has been produced to summarise the hands on workshop held on February 27, 2014 at The Lighthouse as a warm-up event to the Design Skills Symposium (March). The approach to the Drawing Places has been designed to help planners and engineers build confidence in basic drawing skills, encouraging better communication through visual documents.
A review of the 2Km separation distance between areas of search for onshore wind farms and the edge of cities, towns and villages was conducted during 2013.
