Tribe member Juliana Capes is showing her work, Exodus at Cupar Arts Festival 2016, more information here. Jules is also participating in Leith Late Festival with her installation Annul; a temporary installation made from pennies. An investigation into ideas of personal "fortune". In Annul pennies will be inserted in to the cracks between the paving stones on the corner of Albert Street and Leith Walk from 10am until 9pm ish, Thursday 23rd June. Pennies, when found on the pavement bring good luck. If they are inserted into the cracks, then do they cancel out the bad luck brought when stepping on a crack? Depending on the strength of your belief, luck is to be Annulled, leaving a liminal space safe from the tirades of fortune. Through this simple, poetic and unusual action in a public space Annul sets up a situation at street level to consider luck, currency, value of art/work, fortune and self determination. More information here.
