Portobello Community Council have received an update from Crudens on the Baileyfield ex-Scottish Power site.

Detailed planning applications for the developments already consented under the masterplan are expected to be submitted soon. The site will be made secure in the meantime to prevent flytipping and vandalism.

It is still their intention to renovate the cottages on Baileyfield Road, but the extent of works required is greater than first anticipated. Cruden’s did not consider it feasible to carry out the works with the tenants in-situ and so tenants were given notice to quit.  The remaining tenants are due to leave by July 1, with work on the cottages expected to start later in the summer.
