Shared Vision – Your Decision is an Edinburgh based project, which enables Members of the public aged 8 and above, who live, work, study and volunteer within Edinburgh, to decide how public money is spent in eradicating Islamophobia and associated prejudice behaviour. We understand that Islamophobic behaviour also affects other faith communities.
Police Scotland, the City of Edinburgh Council and the Scottish Government have contributed £40,000 for allocation through a Participatory Budgeting process.
Organisations across Edinburgh have submitted project proposals as to how they feel they can contribute towards this, and this is your chance to decide which projects you feel will be most effective and should be funded.
From 1330 on Saturday voting will be available at our event which takes place at the Methodist Church, 25 Nicholson Square, Edinburgh, EH8 9BX, as well as online (www.scotland.police.uk/
As part of our promotion you may have noticed that lamppost wraps have been distributed round the city, and I would be very grateful for your support again to further publicise the initiative as we aim to bring our communities together on Saturday to get them involved in the decision making process.
Over the coming days and weeks we will be putting messages out on our ‘Edinburgh Police Division’ facebook page and @EdinburghPolice twitter account, using hashtag #Edinburghforeveryone.
I would encourage you to share these messages or post messages of your own on your relevant platforms. We are keen for as many people as possible to attend on Saturday and make the event a success.
For those who cannot make it please still have your say by voting either online or in your local library.
I have attached our poster in pdf format, which you can use as required.
Many thanks for your support.
Kind regards
Davie
