School Streets, Prohibition of Motor Vehicles (Proposed TRO/15/21)

VARIOUS ROADS- EDINBURGH (SCHOOL STREETS)

PROPOSED PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES

 

In accordance with the terms of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999, I write to inform you that the City of Edinburgh Council proposes to promote an order which will prohibit motor vehicles on roads in the vicinity of the following primary schools, at the times as listed below.

 

Abbeyhill Primary School

08:20 to 09:05 and 15:00 to 15:40 Mondays to Thursdays inclusive and

08:20 to 09:05 and 12:10 to 12:40 Fridays.

 

Duddingston Primary School

08:20 to 08:55 and 14:45 to 15:40 Mondays to Thursdays inclusive and

08:20 to 08:55 and 11:55 to 12:30 Fridays.

 

Cramond Primary School

08:20 to 09:10 and 15:00 to 15:40 Mondays to Thursdays inclusive and

08:20 to 09:10 and 12:00 to 12:30 Fridays.

 

St Johns R.C. Primary School

08:20 to 09:00 and 14:35 to 15:40 Mondays to Thursdays inclusive and

08:20 to 09:00 and 11:30 to 12:15 Fridays.

 

Sciennes Primary School

08:35 to 09:00 and 14:40 to 15:30 Mondays to Thursdays inclusive and

08:35 to 09:00 and 11:55 to 12:20 Fridays.

 

Colinton Primary School

08:15 to 09:00 and 14:40 to 15:30 Mondays to Thursdays inclusive and

08:15 to 09:00 and 12:00 to 12:35 Fridays.

 

Any vehicle parked within a School Street area when the prohibitions come in to effect will require to remain parked until after the prohibition period has finished.

 

These prohibitions will not apply to residents or businesses within the School Street area and they will be provided with a permit to allow access/egress. The prohibitions will also not apply to vehicles displaying a disabled badge, emergency vehicles, vehicles being used for works on the road and certain school transport vehicles.

 

The roads affected are shown on the attached plans.

 

Formal objections are not invited at this stage, as a further period will be allowed for the submission of objections when the proposals are formally advertised. It is intended to advertise the proposals at an early date and I should welcome any comments you may have to offer within 3 weeks of the date of this letter.
