Maureen Child Update 15/5/2015

Posted on: May 15th, 2015

Dear All

Done in haste this week, so please excuse any mistakes and omissions.  This week has been somewhat busy and stressful!  (More later!)

But a few things people have asked me to flag up for the weekend and other snippets added:

Enjoy an early taste of summer in Portobello this Saturday (16 May) with a strawberry tea at St Mark’s Episcopal Church, on the High Street. Admission is £2 (children free) which includes tea/coffee, with homemade scones and baking. Stalls include tombola, books and cake and candy. Saturday 16th May 2-4pm. Further details at www.stmarksportobello.org  Strawberry Tea at St Mark’s Portobello, Saturday 16 May, 2-4.  Also on Twitter:  pic.twitter.com/yD3wd4tEK7

The postal voting might be over for You Decide!  But the main event happens at Craigmillar Hub from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 23 May and you need to be there to find out what’s happening around you and have a say.  That is when most of the votes will be cast and the real buzz happens, results announced and decisions are taken. You Decide! Community Grants Fund 2015 Some voting already took place a libraries, so this is the best chance you have to network, make links with other volunteers and to score each project.  All of them are brilliant.

I have attached details of funding also available through the Kintry Environment Trust in Craigmillar and Niddrie and how to apply.
