Community Visions for the Edinburgh Shoreline by 2050

Posted on: September 19th, 2017

Beachlovers come Forth: Participants wanted for the Shoreline community interviews!

"As part of our research into the future of Edinburgh’s coastline, we are looking for local people living and working in one of these coastal neighbourhoods: South Queensferry, Dalmeny, Cramond, Silverknowes, Granton, Newhaven, Craigentinny, Portobello/Joppa, to take part in a group interview and share your experiences and hopes, dreams or ideas for this overlooked stretch of the Scottish coast.

Each  interview will take about 1 – 2 hours (depending on how chatty you are), and will include up to 5 people, all locals from the same area. Interviews usually take place in either local cafes or community centres, whichever is most convenient for you.

The outcomes of the interviews will be used to create a set of visions for Edinburgh’s shoreline by 2050, and will feed into a collaborative exhibition at the Royal Botanical Gardens hosted by the Edinburgh Living Landscape. More importantly, they will give our team of researchers at Edinburgh University valuable insights about the value and potential of the urban coastline, and feed into a PhD project as well.

Unfortunately we can’t pay you for taking part… but we can feed you! Lunch or coffee/tea and other refreshments will be provided during the interview, depending on the time of day.

Sounds good? Take part: get in touch with us via e-mail, and we’ll set up an interview or answer any questions you may have"
