Edinburgh’s first Million Mile Beach Clean is from 10.30am on Sunday, 20 February in Portobello. A crew will be filming for a Scottish Government Road Safety TV advert in Colliesdene Avenue on 22 and 23 February. The advert is to encourage the public not to use a mobile phone while driving. The road will be closed to through traffic.  Residents in the closed part have been informed by letter and will still be able to get in and out, though they may be asked to wait for a couple of minutes during takes.

Fort Kinnaird has announced Thistle as this year’s charity partner.  More here: https://theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2022/02/fort-kinnaird-announces-thistle-as-new-charity-partner/

Last week I took colleagues to visit Create’s Castlebrae Business Centre and find out a bit about what goes on inside. The fabulous art deco former school building is over 90 years old and is B-listed. Read Create’s latest blog to learn about its history: https://buff.ly/3HIwwR2

I paused sending this Update for a day to pick up on this: Porty Podcast this week is an interview with Cal MacAninch on the Atlantic rowing challenge he and four stalwart members of Portobello Eastern Rowing Club are embarking on this December. Well worth a listen! https://www.buzzsprout.com/71622/10086248?fbclid=IwAR05HXFDSFk8Oy9gxdfxaxIoTIwXZU8dbtWNaBt3Je5zc_yuWtAlo8DcWhc

That’s all for this week.  Have a great weekend, weather permitting!
