Wassail: 28 January, 2-4 pm

The community orchard team wishes you all the best for a happy and fruitful New Year.

We will be holding our Wassailing event at the Donkeyfield community orchard on Saturday 28 January from 2-4 pm.  There will be the customary singing and dancing to encourage a bountiful fruit harvest in 2017, led by the community choir, as well as a bonfire and refreshments.  We hope you will join us for this seasonal celebration which will brighten up a January day.

Mini Holland: a model for safer, friendlier streets?
7.15-9.15pm, 29th January at Tribe Porty

Join Paul Gasson from Walthamstow, to hear about a ground breaking project which has used a range of landscaping and other features to make their pavements and roads safer and more enjoyable for road users and residents. Paul will give a half an hour presentation, followed by Q&A and discussion of whether something similar might be possible in Portobello. This is a free event, but small donations to help cover the room hire would be very welcome.
