Please find attached my regular report in good time for February’s Portobello Community Council on Monday evening 23 February (always last Monday of the month).  Everybody is welcome to attend Community Council Meetings. Craigmillar Community Council meets on the second Tuesday of the month in the Hays Business Centre, 4 Hay Avenue, EH16 4AQ.  It starts at 7pm.  Next one is Tuesday10 March.

Sew Can Do, Edinburgh’s new manufacturing social enterprise, was officially launched by Liz Cameron, the Director and Chief Executive of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, last week in Castlebrae Business Centre. Sew Can Do will create employment for people who have previously worked in manufacturing and for women who are returning to work. Read more here.

All public bodies in Scotland are legally required to look after biodiversity and report on how this is being achieved to Scottish Government.  The Council published a report in December last year on the wide range of activities undertaken to improve biodiversity in Edinburgh.
